We got this coffee maker for Christmas and we love it! It keeps coffee hot until the last drop. There is zero the coffee in the pot, so you can drink the last drop. I the beep when the coffee is made and when the pot is going out. We race to the pot when you hear it. I love how secure the pot part of the machine and how to secure the lid on the pot. The carafe is heavy and the handle is secure. There is nothing good about this. I could buy another now if I have a back up!
I looked at the different models some Cusinarts. Watch the reports of consumers who have given a note to an earlier model of this model, however comments highlighted some gaps. After much research decided to purchase the DCC-2600 and have not been disappointed. This model addressed the negative comments from previous models. I suggest using the paper coffee filters that you buy an option, unless your water is very tasteful. Makes a good cup of coffee, easy to use, nice and hot, etc. have had this unit for about a month and would highly recommend it. Can not think something negative to say about it.
We needed a new coffee maker and after having read the reviews for the 1200 (quality issues too), I thought Cuisinart read the writing on the wall and decided to go all out and build a better product with the 2600. It seems they did. Everything about this machine is easy to use. It took some time to understand how fine grind our coffee (we only buy whole grain), but with the KitchenAid grinder we set # 6 (very thin much more than coffee canned) and put them on the fatty Cuisinart establishment with seven well-rounded scoops from a standard coffee scoop (I do not use the scoop comes with the machine because it's too small), we're treated to 14 cups of very strong, very tasty coffee. We have learned to keep the temp decanter set "low" to save energy and because it keeps the coffee at just the right temperature until four hours after brewing. Be careful with the environment "or" high "settings, they can burn your tastebuds.
Water in the machine is somewhat difficult because of the small opening. But I use a "Brita pitcher" to fill is much easier. Some have stated in their comments, Sometimes, the water flowing and standing water while brewing. I wonder how many know that there is a hole in the back of the machine where the water is held so that during filling is prevented?
All in all Cuisinart 2600 is a well designed coffee multifeatured that does the job. What can you ask? I have been trying to conceive since last august, am i doing something wrong?
