Starbucks is recalling 167,000 Chinese-made mugs sold in Canada and the United States because handles are breaking off and posing minor burn risks to consumers when filled with hot beverages. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday Starbucks has received 23 reports of handles detaching from the mug, including nine reports resulting in minor burns. The company said the recall involves two styles of Starbucks 14-ounce Fusion Coffee Mugs. The mugs are white, have a black plastic handle and a stainless steel base. One style is stamped with “Starbucks Coffee” and the other is stamped with the company’s logo. Consumers who bought the mugs are urged to stop using them and return them to the company.
