Does anyone know how to get a Cook (2125) coffee and tea to infuse more than two cups of coffee? holds 10 cups

I a new Cooks (JC Penney) Thermal Coffee Maker (Model # 2125) and I have it out of the box and I'm using it for the first time and he said to carry a pot full of water through the first. I filled it with water, then put it on and it is only running for two cups and then it stops even if it has a full 10 cups of water inside. I read the instructions 100 times and I am at a loss.
