Does anyone know how to get a Cook (2125) coffee and tea to infuse more than two cups of coffee? holds 10 cups

I a new Cooks (JC Penney) Thermal Coffee Maker (Model # 2125) and I have it out of the box and I'm using it for the first time and he said to carry a pot full of water through the first. I filled it with water, then put it on and it is only running for two cups and then it stops even if it has a full 10 cups of water inside. I read the instructions 100 times and I am at a loss. The only thing I can think of is that he must have coffee in its operation the whole of the water through, but I never in my life had to do with any other coffee. I tried it on manual and start the countdown … no luck either. Most of the time it only works for about 30 seconds or more and stops. Any help? Tips? I appreciate it very much!

This machine looks like an old Bunn configuration we use to use. Is it supposed to start running water through a filter filled with coffee when you pour the water into the top???. If so, you must pour into a pot, turn it on and let harden. Then the element turns on and heats the water you just pour in. When you pour more water, hot water was in the tank is pushed over of coffee in the filter and support, which makes your fresh coffee right away. If this is not the type of machine, either by email or IM and I I'll try to get by you.
