No no no no on on o no no Do not use Simple Green. Just run a little mild soapy HOTTTT soapy water through it a few times. DO NOT use chemicals.

With all the dark you have in your room, freshen up with a very light blue. Consider Topsail Mountainair or Rainwashed (acutally this one leans on the green side, but still a cool color). All are Sherwin Williams colors. Accent with white, creams, natural tones. If you wanted, you could make a fake window just by hanging fabric or curtains. A print would be nice!
